A Frontline Hero’s Bathroom Remodel Before And After

A Special Fundraiser For A Central VA
Frontline Hero’s Bathroom Remodel

Give Away Bathroom Remodel

It’s May 2020. The Covid-19 Pandemic has just begun to wreak havoc on the world, including here in Chesterfield County. Listening to the sacrifices our Frontline Hero nurses and doctors were going through, JDS Bath decided to start a fundraiser for a full bathroom remodel for a Frontline Hero.

Hanover Vegetable Farm invited JDS Bath to set up their mobile showroom and a booth at their vegetable stand, on Ashland Road in Ashland, VA. They also accepted donations at their market cash register.

Inspired by the idea of helping a healthcare worker with a bathroom renovation, several local food trucks decided to donate some of their proceeds to the cause! Maria’s Apple Cider Donuts, Jus Cukn’ LLC, A Pleasant Taste Of The World and Jiji Frozen Custard made several donations throughout the season!

After contacting several hospitals about the fundraiser, JDS Bath finally heard back from the Department of Patient Centered Services, VCU Health System. Everyone agreed that there should be a drawing from the names of the nurses and hospital workers who had gone above and beyond caring for the victims of Covid19.

Meet Our Frontline Healthcare Hero Erine Beattie!

In the center, holding the poster is Erin Beattie, BSN, RN, CCRN, Clinical Nurse II, Medical Respiratory ICU. She is with her Medical Respiratory Intensive Care Unit Teammates and to her right is Nathan Cunningham, MPH, Director, Patient Experience. Erin is a Clinical Nurse II (bedside nurse) in VCU’s Medical Respiratory ICU unit.

This unit has been the primary location for COVID patients on ventilators. She has worked with many unfortunate and difficult COVID cases over the past year. She routinely navigates difficult end of life conversations with patients and their families in a warm, humane, and patient-centered manner.

Meet the JDS Bath installation crew who worked tirelessly to make Erin’s bathroom as beautiful as possible!

What does Erin have to say about her bathroom?

“Everything is WONDERFUL and we love the new shower so, so much. Your team is outstanding and everyone was extremely considerate of our space and time. At the end of every day, our house (minus the shower) looked as if no one had been there! Everyone is so kind and thoughtful and really took the time to explain the process to us. On top of that, the shower is impeccably done. The care and precision that was put into it really shines through. Saying we are thrilled with it is an understatement. Again, from the bottom of my heart, I cannot express how blown away we are by how generous and kind you all have been. This is truly something we will cherish, and we are so appreciative.”
