After a twenty year desire and a two year planning process, we selected JDS Bath for our bathroom remodel. Working with David and his team were a pleasure. Their craftmanship and ability were topnotch. There not the company to go to for a quick turnaround, but it you desire a quality job, don’t hesitate to give them a call.

We had JDS Bath do a complete replacement of two small baths. The final results exceeded all expectations. The crews were skilled, professional, friendly and very easy to work. I’ve worked in the shower & bath industry in the past and went with JDS based on their reputation. This is not a one-day get it done company and they were worth the wait! The pricing was more than reasonable (and I know I saved thousands on the same high-quality materials) and the end result was exactly what I was looking for! David was clear and honest, the crew was very sweet and professional (and they tolerated my very large, curious dog with affection), and the company was immediately responsive to any questions I had. If you’re looking for a quality bath contractor, I would highly recommend JDS for shower/bath, subfloor, flooring, vanity, paint, light fixtures, fans – you name it! They did it all and I couldn’t be happier!

Great experience! A Complete custom made handicap low entry Shower was installed with a rain forest shower head add on! Also updated the toilet with a high level handicap version. There was a separate team used for each part of the project. All coordinated through David. Reasonable price, quality craftsmanship. I highly recommend them!

My new bathroom. I loved my old 1950’s bathroom but it was time to do away with my old green cast iron tub, sink, and toilet which were rusting internally along with the green swirly linoleum floor so we had it gutted and replaced with a shower instead of tub and were able to move the toilet and sink to create the illusion of more space in a tiny bathroom. I love it!

The quality of work was excellent!

JDS did a fantastic job with remodeling our bathroom. They kept us informed daily on what they planned to get accomplished and when there were delays receiveing parts/supplies from vendors.

The installation crew was courteous and respectful. They cleaned daily and placed work sheets on the floors to protect them. They kept me informed on what days that there would be excessive noise, since my home office was several feet away from my bathroom, which allowed me to plan accordingly.

During the initial phase of planning the remodel, David (The Owner) was very helpful with the everything. He kept constant communication with us, allowing us to feel comfortable with the process. We remodeled our kitchen last year and it was the exact opposite (Nightmare) of JDS.

JDS Bath completely renovated two and a half baths for us. The whole process was an amazingly positive experience! From my initial conversations with the office staff, to the signing of the contract, to the actual work and follow-up, this whole team was extremely professional, very helpful, and friendly. We went from fiberglass tubs with fiberglass surrounds to a fully tiled walk-in shower and a tub with tile surround. The renovated bathrooms are beautiful! These guys are craftsman who take a real interest in a job well done. Paul’s tiling work was amazing! Josh, Billy, Danny, and Jesse, who worked on demolition, and putting everything else back together also did excellent work! From the time I signed the contract until work began was about seven months, but right in line with the estimated start date when I signed. It was well worth the wait! I would not hesitate to work with this group again, should the need arise, and will certainly recommend them to anyone I know who may be planning a bathroom renovation.

We used JDS Bath to remodel our master bathroom that was done incorrectly from a previous contractor. Dave was very polite when he came to the house and was always quick to respond to any questions I had throughout the entire process. All of his employees that came to do the work were very courteous and well skilled. The work that was done is incredible and I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a bathroom remodel! We had a bathroom with a defective Jacuzzi tub and taking it out would destroy enough of the tile that we had to remove the old tile (two layers!) and old tub and tiled shower. Their tile guys were great. Professional, courteous and damn good at their job. We ended up with a (mostly) new bathroom replacing everything but the cabinets. They did a great job, would absolutely recommend them to do your bathroom remodel or whatever else you need to have done.

Had a wannabe contractor come in and gut my bathroom and left. I found JDS Bath online and contacted them. Told the administrative staff my problem. They contacted the owner, David Rickard, and he came out to look the situation over and gave me a quote. He made no promises on how soon he could get the job completed, but he would do the best he could do. JDS had the job completed in 2 weeks. Thanks to them, I have a brand new bathroom that looks awesome. Thanks to the professional job done from the JDS administrative staff, David Rickard (Owner), and the awesome crew of Jesse, Josh, Paul, Jonathan, Shawn, Danny and Billy.

June 2023 Update:
JDS came out and remodeled our 2nd bathroom recently. As expected, they did an excellent job. We could not be happier. We have no other bathrooms to be remodeled, but if we did JDS would be who we would call.

November 2022:
Extremely professional. My wife and I contemplated on remodeling the bathroom and after meeting with a few companies decided to go with JDS. We were so impressed that we decided to have them do a second bathroom. Highly recommend going to JDS first before other companies. Some other businesses said they were giving a discount and if we signed by the end of the day would give an additional discount even though their final price was higher.

We really love our new walk-in shower. It is a lot easier on my mom to do her bathing. Thanks again!

JDS and its owner David Rickard provide exceptional service that is both efficient and of high quality. We needed them to remove a jacuzzi and old shower plus an outdated vanity and install a new glass enclosed shower where the jacuzzi was plus a stand alone vanity with recessed-mirrored medicine cabinets. There was mold and even mushrooms growing at the base of the old shower which workers thoroughly cleaned out during two days of demoliion. They then put in the drain and waterproof underflooring for the enlarged shower bordered by a knee wall opposite a shower headbed completing the prep work by the end of the week. In the second week, the tiling was completed, plus the painting of all the walls and bathroom door. One week of work was lost due to illness, but the installaton of a new toilet, the stand alone vanity with its mirrored recessed cabinets plus lights and all the plumbling fixtures and the glass enclosure for the shower was completed in three days. A minor problem with one of the drains for the new vanity was corrected by Mr. Rickard himself. The other workers were all polite, personable and professional. We now have a shower and a bathroom we can completely enjoy.

Removed shower and jetted tub and installed walk-in shower with seat, Tiled shower, replaced floor and installed new vanity top with sinks, mounted 2 vanity mirrors and installed 2 new lights. Excellent work ethics and installers are the best. Highly recommend JDS.

We were left high and dry by another remodel company and David at JDS came to our rescue, my only regret was that when I first was looking for a remodel company JDS did not appear in my research, and sat with us and listened as we explained what we wanted and what we had already ordered he said he could work with us and gave us a quote. His quote was very fair and we moved forward. Once the project started David made sure we did not have any downtime. He was very good at staying on top of our remodel to completion. He personally visited our project to check on the progress and to make sure we were satisfied with the work.

Bill and Dan, the team handling our remodel were superb. Craftsmanship was top notch and at the end of each day took time to explain what time they would be back the following day and what they would be doing. All in all we couldn’t have been more pleased with the results. I highly recommend JDS bath for your remodel. The time for David to complete his other projects was worth the wait but more importantly once he started the job he did not pull his crew away for other projects.

JDS installed a new surround and tub in my old bathroom earlier this year. They were very responsive and professional, gave a timeline that they followed up on, and even answered questions after install was done. We had a great experience with JDS Bath. While the project took a little longer than expected, we are very happy with the result.

The scope of work for our project was a complete master bath renovation. We had just moved in to our house (and bought it knowing the first thing we needed to do was redo the bathroom). The original bathroom included a large, corner garden tub, a very small fiberglass shower, a small vanity, and a leaky block window. Our new bathroom now has a glass enclosed tiled shower, a large vanity, a great linen closet, and a new window!

JDS coordinated everything from beginning to end. The work included demolition, moving the plumbing, new electrical, construction of a closet, drywall work, painting and lots of tile work. Every contractor that came to our house was professional, courteous and did great work. I enjoyed getting to know all of them – and would have trusted any of them with a key to my house.

The original timeline for our project was 5 to 6 weeks – it ended up taking about 9 weeks. However, the delays were due to things largely out of the control of JDS. We agreed to let them start the project the week of Christmas (understanding we would be off to a slower start). The pandemic created its own issues, and then there was the weather. The ice storms we had in Richmond caused a delay of several days on the installation of our shower door.

We were very pleased with our JDS ‘experience”’ – so much so, that as soon as our master bath renovation was completed, we signed another contract to have JDS do some work on our other bathroom!

JDS removed an old shower stall and replaced it with a new high quality shower. The work was completed in a timely and professional manner and left us with a beautiful new shower that was a significant improvement/upgrade over our previous one. Additionally they cleaned as they went leaving nothing for us to do but enjoy the new shower. I would highly recommend JDS for any bathroom upgrade work.

I got 3 estimates for converting my tub shower to a walk in shower, and I went with JDS Bath because of their responsiveness to my custom needs to enlarge the footprint, which included some carpentry work to extend the left wall out. They were highly professional throughout the job and left everything very tidy each day before they left. I appreciated the high quality of their products, and they made sure exactly where I wanted the 3 grab bars, 6 shelves, bench and separate hand held shower. I’d definitely recommend JDS for their ability to meet custom needs which the other companies I interviewed couldn’t fully do. The microban wall panel product really does require less work to keep clean too! I definitely made the right decision going with JDS.

I love my final outcome. The very small shower was transformed into a beautiful vanity. The useless whirlpool tub was transformed into a huge walk in in shower with a bench — LOVE IT:) AND THEY CLEANED AS THEY WORKED, HOW NICE THAT WAS.

We had our bathroom redone by JDS Bath in October 2018. We waited to do the review to make sure everything was all right. Our bathroom was original to our 1948 home. It was in terrible shape. ( David has pictures to show how bad it was.) We are amazed at the professional job that was done. Mike was wonderful to work with , as well as, Jake. Mike was like an old friend. His advice was priceless. The pride he took in his work was so evident. If something didn’t look exactly right, he redid it. It didn’t happen often. Two mistakes were made, a vanity that takes up too much space and not recessing the medicine cabinet. If I had followed Mike’s advice, this wouldn’t have happened. He knew what the room needed. My bath design/renovation started out quite simple in my head, but removing the tub and replacing with a “big” shower only resulted in a beautiful space. Working with the owner, David we designed a beautiful shower with white acrylic and brushed nickel fixtures to include a bench and hand held device to use while on the bench. Since the small shower was also removed, we had to come up with a plan for that space. I now have an additional small vanity with cabinet and shelves above. The space is wonderful for additional storage for towels and linens. Again, I’m so pleased with the outcome. The JDS bath team was very professional, neat and paid attention to all my details. David sold me on the materials for my new shower. I had a large garden tub removed and a custom shower put in the same “footprint.” This means it is a unique shape and glass walls and door needed to be made for the space. Everything is beautiful. The workmanship is superb. I am glad I did it!

What a transformation was made in our master bath! JDS Bath took out our 1970’s avocado ceramic tile shower and ceramic tile floor which had water damage underneath it. Saturday, David Rickard, owner of JDS Bath, came to my house to look at the tub I wanted updated. Not the whole bathroom, mind you, just the tub. He was kind enough to explain all of my options and answer all of my questions. Because of his honesty I determined it wasn’t necessary to go the expensive route. Even though it cost him business, he told me another way to fix the problem with my tub. I truly think he is the first honest businessman I’ve dealt with when it comes to updates or repairs to just about anything. Should I need a makeover of my full or half bathrooms, I will definitely use JDS Baths.

It took a little longer than most of their competitors quoted but I knew that because of our 300 year old home. It always presents unseen problems but Mike , David and Dickie knew how to handle them with no upcharge to correct the problems. I’m not sure the Historic folks would like our new shower but we do. We had a serious leak in our Master Bath stall shower which ruined the ceiling in our dining room directly below. We needed to have the shower replaced and the ceiling fixed and JDS Bath did a remarkable Turn Key job for us. They removed all of the old tile, the wall board behind the tile, replaced the floor and retiled the shower to our specifications. They also fixed the ceiling in the dining room and had the entire ceiling painted. you’d never know we had a problem there. The workmanship was impeccable and done by highly skilled and courteous craftsmen and I would highly recommend JDS Bath to do your Bath remodel. I received many quotes but I never received the level of attention and an air of confidence that I received from JDS Bath.

The JDS Bath team is fantastic! The shower with bench, cabinets, vanity with granite top, and flooring are gorgeous. We’re also thrilled with the sliding glass doors. We’re super happy with our new bathroom and we highly recommend David and his team.

David was very professional and knowledgeable in his presentation. He took the time to show me the many patterns for the shower wall and was able to set up the shower/tub to shower conversion in a reasonable time, actually sooner than I expected. Although he was not available to personally do the install, Mike was very professional, and did an outstanding job. He finished the small shower conversion in two days as promised and it looks great. I will call JDS Bath when I’m ready to have my downstairs bathroom remodeled.

JDS Bath did a partial renovation of our master bathroom. The new shower was much larger and nicer than the previous one… it’s gorgeous and didn’t cost an arm and a leg. They also did a few other adjustments to make the bathroom more livable without recommending a full gut. They got it to a point where I could comfortably take the reins to finish up. Very happy that we went this route. Saved me over $20,000 on other quotes.

I checked Lowes and three other Bath Companies and no one wants the job I had of only installing a jacuzzi tub and bath enclosure. They all want the complete job from sales, product and installation of entire bathroom not just an shower/bath enclosure. Many different hands in the job. David Richard of JDS Bath does all of these jobs! He answers for the job beginning to end. This is the way businesses used to operate when one man stood for his entire company and was considered to be a class A1 Contractor before the loosely used term Professional was ever heard of. Class A1 Contract is a top Class faction Licensed. This is the type of work Mr Richard does before and after he has your money in his hand. And to one’s person needs. I’d say it doesn’t get any better than that. A true find in today’s times!

JDS Bath of Richmond did a fantastic job with my bathroom! They transformed it from 1950 to the present!! The removed all the rotten flooring and repaired joices; Took out old cast iron tub and installed a beautiful ceiling to floor shower. Updated the vanity sink and toilet. It was all done in 41/2 days! They were careful to protect my hardwood floors and not let my cats out!! Would recommend them to anyone who needs an upgrade!!

In the final touch-up stage now and we couldn’t be more pleased! David and his crew were on time and on point throughout the demolition, repair and replacement. Cleanup has been excellent and the workmanship is superb. Second bath update through JDS Baths and I’d recommend their work to anyone.

David and his representatives did a very professional and timely renovation of our master bath. First was the excellent removal of a Jacuzzi 2 person bath and a separate shower while leaving a very clean bathroom. Next was the construction of the behind the surface walls and plumbing. Third came the installation of the flooring, walls, window framing, and plumbing fixtures. Seeing this completed stage ensured us that we had made the right decision when choosing David to perform this project for us. The final stage was the installation of the glass wall and door which fit perfectly. Our new shower is now 5 feet by five feet and contains 2 shower heads, 3 handrails, 2 trays, and 4 foot by 4 foot window. We are extremely pleased with the work and finished product.
