Our Toy Drive For Central Virginia Families During
The Holiday Season Is Like A Perfect Bathroom
Remodel – It Spreads Joy All Around
At JDS Bath, We’re Driven To
Serve – And Driven To Give
Giving back, lending a helping hand, and making donations. These are things many of us wish we could do more of. At JDS Bath, a bathroom remodeling service in Central Virginia, we care deeply about our community. And these are things we’ve put into action.
We began with our Frontline Hero program. This involves remodeling the bathroom of nurses and doctors who put themselves at risk to help others during the worst of the Covid-19 Pandemic.
But we knew we could do more.
We then expanded to a food drive, which eventually became a biannual event, helping to bridge the gap during the less busy times for food donations throughout the year.
But again… we knew we could do more.
So, we started another drive to help bring happiness to families during the holiday season. And helping those in need throughout Central Virginia has brought just as much joy to us as we hope it has brought to them.
Giving During The Holiday Season
It was closing in on the holiday season of 2022, and the team had decided to hold a food drive during September and October. However, that still left the holiday months.
One of our team members, Pamela, did some research and decided to reach out to Toys for Tots in the Richmond area. It took some time, but we were able to become an official drop-off location.
We began that holiday season.
It was a relatively small affair the first year. It was a new endeavor, but it’s only grown larger every year since.
These days, years later, we usually have an overflow of toys. And we have to find extra places to store everything because there are so many donations.
Some members of our community buy toys throughout the year and save them for our drive. Then, others drop off multiple times during our collection. Additionally, many surrounding businesses also contribute by collecting items in their offices and bringing them to us, as we’re an official collection point.
It’s truly a wonderful experience coming together to bring joy to others during the holiday season.
The Drive To Continue
Once all the toys are collected and the event is concluded, Toys for Tots sends some guys to come pick everything up. Typically, it’s a couple of Marines, and sometimes they’re accompanied by a couple of Navy guys.
It’s been very motivating for us to hear about the significant impact our contribution has.
Understanding that what we’re doing matters. It’s making people’s lives better, putting smiles on children’s faces, and bringing relief to parents who just need a helping hand.
A child going without Christmas presents, because their parents have to make tough choices they can’t understand, is heartbreaking. For some families, it’s a roof over their heads and food, or Christmas presents.
So, we don’t hesitate to act.
And our drive has only grown stronger for doing everything we can to aid those in need.

Our vision is for every child to wake up on Christmas morning and have a present waiting for them. For parents not to feel stressed about the holidays and to provide a positive experience for their children.
At JDS Bath, we have a heart of service. From delivering remarkable bathroom remodels to our toy and food drives, helping others brings us joy.
Our Toys for Tots collection event typically begins the first week of November, usually on the day after our food drive concludes. We’re dedicated to the people of Central Virginia. Giving back to our community is one way we show how much we care.
